Meet our Pastor
Josh Davenport has been the pastor of Unionville Baptist Church since February of 2015. Pastor Davenport was born in Centerville, Iowa and grew up on the family farm in the southwest corner of Appanoose County. At 8 years of age, he realized that he was a sinner in need of a Savior and trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior. He was then baptized and discipled at the First Baptist Church of Seymour, Iowa. After being called of God to the ministry as a teenager, and then surrendering to that call, he attended Oklahoma Baptist College, where he graduated from in 2003 and where he met his wife Tara.
Bro. and Mrs. Davenport were also married in 2003 and have four children and (at the time this was written) two grandchildren! Bro. Davenport loves studying the Word of God and preaching in an expository method and in a manner that is insightful, encouraging, and convicting.
In addition to pastoring, Pastor Davenport enjoys history (specifically Baptist history), as well as firearms and recreational shooting. He and Tara also enjoy sightseeing and traveling in the Southwest (especially Arizona).
